Staying Motivated to Make This Year, “Your Best Year Ever.”
Sands Of Time:
The subject of time is so vitally important to our success that this post will be dividied into two parts. Also, feel free to listen to the audio on youtube by clicking the link above.
“Life is just a minute-only 60 seconds in it. Forced upon you-can’t refuse it. Didn’t seek it-didn’t choose it, But it’s up to you to use it. You must suffer if you lose it. Give an account if you abuse it. Just a tiny little minute, But eternity is in it.” – Dr. Benjamin Elijah Mays
Have you ever heard the expression “Time is money”? Well it’s true. Time is the first currency that God gave man, it’s the life-blood of all human existence, and the most valuable asset that any of us possess. In economics the scarcity principle is based upon the future unavailability of a particular thing. What better example of scarcity than time on earth, which is regarded as priceless, since each of us is allotted a limited amount. Money and material items can be replaced, but time that has passed can never be retrieved. Because it’s a resource, time can be lost, stolen, wasted, or invested. What’s the rate of return on your time? How are you spending it? Are you proactively investing your precious moments? Or are you allowing yourself or others to cause them to be lost, stolen or wasted?
Respect for your time and for the time of others will be a predictor of your future achievemnets, or lack thereof. Everything you have in your life, you’ve been willing to trade your time for. Whatever you’re lacking in your life, you’ve been unwilling to trade your time for. God gives us 10,080 minutes a week to exchange for intellect, income, relationships and favor. How many of those minutes are being invested towards your life goals?
Time is what we need the most, but value the least. And until you value yourself and demand that others do the same, you won’t value your time and neither will they. Incorporating goal setting raises the value of your moments and causes you to use them efficiently and more effectively.
There is a time for everything, but time doesn’t solve everything. Contrary to popular belief, time doesn’t heal, reveal or teach. If it did we wouldn’t need a God. There are some old, broken, blinded fools. Wisdom doesn’t necessarily come with age, sometimes age just comes by itself.
Although it’s been referred to as “father-time”, time is a gift from God and he would never create anything that could take the place of his presence in our lives. He has always been and will forever be The Father and our one and only true source.
Time also cannot be managed. The term time management itself is an oxymoron. Time cannot be controlled or manipulated in any way. So if you’re trying to find time, you might as well quit looking. On any given day 24 hours is the best it’s going to get. Stop trying to manage time and manage yourself. Manage your life in such a way that you’re not just busy, but that your busy being productive building your empire and creating your legacy. (to be continued)
